Ridax was established around 1990 and worked with software development with data communication as speciality.  Around 2000 the company step by step shifted focus into hardware development, but still with data communication as speciality.  Early 2005 we had a project with iPods that required communication through the dock connector, but getting hold of the dock connector proved difficult at the time which caused us to administer the dock connector group buy.

We were a lot of experimenters, hobbyists and others at the iPodLinux forum that wanted to experiment with the dock connector. It was either very uneconomical or impossible to get hold of in small quantities. Because of this we bought a large batch of these connectors directly from the manufacturer and are reselling these to anyone that needs them, like a group buy. They quickly became very popular and now we have delivered thousands of connectors to thousands of happy customers and we are continuing supplying these and have added some new versions of the connector as well.
