RD. Dock PCB. Do you want to build your own docking solution for your car HiFi or similar? This is a PCB for a dock with a lot of connections and capabilities. It has Line Out, Line In, USB, 8-24V DC for charging (this charging not working with newest iPods/iPhones) and a receptable dock connector to connect iPod cords and accessories. It also has room for a Microchip PIC 16F688 microcontroller, an IR receiver module and the necessary components for it. You can use two different kinds of cradle connectors to connect to the iPod, either the 15 degree slanted surface mounted cradle connector (type U) or the straight through hole mounted cradle connector (type DN). You just mount the components and connectors you wish to use and can leave the other component places empty. Note that this item does NOT INCLUDE ANY COMPONENTS, just the PCB. If you think soldering the iPod connectors too difficult, send us an email and tell us what you need mounted and we can arrange a price for it.

N. iPod PIC processor PCB. If you want to experiment with the serial data interface of the iPod and have knowledge of programming PIC processors, this PCB might be suitable for you. It connects the serial Rx and Tx signals from the iPod to the Rx and Tx pins of the PIC 16F88 processor (other Microchip PIC processors with similar pin layout that are clocked internally can be used). The iPod Line out sound signals are connected to an ordinary 3.5mm mini jack. There is room for an ID resistor and also for an IR receiver with the power supply decoupling (if you don't need these components, you can just leave the place on the PCB empty). The PCB is made in a shape so half of it is inside the connector cover and the rest (with the PIC processor and line out signal) is outside of the cover. Note that this item does NOT INCLUDE ANY COMPONENTS, just the PCB. A and E are suitable connectors for this PCB. Click here for information about using this board.

30pin 0.5mm pitch FPC connector. This is a PCB surface mounted 30 pin connector with 0.5mm pitch for ZIF (zero insertion force) flexible flat cable. This connector can be soldered in the same place as the surface mounted iPod connectors and thus allow you to connect a ribbon cable. Bottom contact.
$0.99

20cm (around 8") 30wire flexible flat cable. This flexible flat cable is suitable for the connector to the left and is 20cm (around 8 inches) long. The connection side is on opposite sides (top/bottom), so the same connector can be used with the same pinout at both ends.

Practicing PCB female/female. This is a PCB you can use to practice soldering of the female surface mounted iPod connector or the FPC connector above. It has two places for either of these connectors. This PCB is not doing anything (useful), so it is just for practicing, so you can ensure yourself that you can do the soldering before you try on anything more valuable.
$0.99

Practicing PCB female/male. This is a PCB you can use to practice soldering of the female surface mounted iPod connector or the FPC connector above and the PCB edge mounted male iPod connector. It has one place for the female iPod/FPC connector and one place for the male edge iPod connector. This PCB is not doing anything (useful), so it is just for practicing, so you can ensure yourself that you can do the soldering before you try on anything more valuable.
